Ansar died of pulmonary fibrosis on 29 July 2008. He was a loving father and husband, a gentle, humble, family man who did so much for those he loved and those he served. He made many friends from many walks of life, and we all remember him with love and affection. He bore his illness with good grace and fortitude, even though his suffering was great.
Ansar was a medical man through and through, a consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician and General Practitioner for forty years, but even he did not know much about pulmonary fibrosis. It may not be as well known as cancer, but it is as fatal, and it remains under-researched. There is no effective treatment at this time. As a doctor and a scientist, Ansar would have encouraged further research into this disease so that perhaps one day others may be saved. It would be a fitting legacy to a lifetime spent healing others.
Please give what you can. Thank you.
